siglap ircc 3rd christmas get-together for seniors
date: saturday, 19 december 2020
venue: chee hoon kog moral home
Minister Dr Maliki Osman graced Siglap IRCC’s 3rd Christmas Get Together for our seniors at Chee Hoon Kog Moral Home today. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he has not been able to visit the seniors for more than 9 months.
He shared with the residents that the pandemic has caused much hardship for our residents and explained to them why they have not been able to go out much this year. With the announcement by PM recently that Phase 3 re-opening will start on 28 Dec, we reminded all that we still need to ensure that all SMM precautions are taken and observed at all times. All guest attending the get together today had to go through the home’s “Disinfectant Passage System” as well as to take their temperature. They were not allowed to enter the living quarters of the seniors.
Due to the current prevailing wet and cold weather, Minister Maliki presented blankets (on behalf of Siglap IRCC) to the seniors. They were also treated to snacks and durian lunch. The seniors from the home had missed meeting Dr Maliki and they presented to him with an artwork which was crafted from their heart.
We are delighted that MCCY Director Shaun Goh and Asst Director Ching Hsia were able to come to support our event for our seniors. We wish all our Singaporeans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
