Resolution of multi-racial, religious & neighbour disputes

A total of 18 Harmony Circle chairpersons attended the 2nd Conference on Resolution of Multi-Racial, Religious and Neighbour Disputes at York Hotel. This conference was organised by the International Institute of Mediators (Singapore). Various speakers from Religious Organisations (RO) shared their experience and perspective on how they resolve disputes involving Religious Beliefs and Racial Sensitivities.
Minister Edwin Tong was the GOH of the conference and he shared that we must not take racial harmony for granted and we need to know our neighbours well to resolve conflict(s). MOS Alvin Tan dropped in to meet the participants in the afternoon and he added that communication is important and that we must strive to set out our message clearly to avoid any misunderstanding.
The second day of the conference involved sharing on how to manage community conflicts in condominiums, how Town Council resolve community conflicts in HDB estates and how grassroots leaders handle community conflicts, etc.it.
