19 AUG 2013 | 6.30 PM TO 9.30 PM
VENUE: Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple
The response from residents wanting to learn about the Taoist 7 Month Ritual Ceremony was overwhelming. There were 35 vacancies available but eventually, more than 50 residents went to Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple to witness the above ceremony which is held annually.
The programme arranged by the temple for the residents included:
a) A brief presentation on the 7th Month Celebration and its significance
b) Visit and briefing on the different setup of the ritual ground
c) Ritual Ceremony (Chao Du Fa Hui) by the Sheng Hong Priest and Ritual Group
d) Gei Tai variety show
This temple visit is one of the many initiatives organised by Siglap IRCC to build familiarity and strengthen relationships among and between the various ethnic, religious and community leaders within the Siglap community. The aim is to promote mutual understanding and appreciation of the different religions, cultures and practices among Singaporeans.
We wish to thank Adrian Long and the management of Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple for making this temple visit possible and to our residents for taking time off to learn and understand the Taoist 7 Month Ritual Ceremony.
