Mayor Dr Maliki Osman shared how SE CDC was harnessing resources, meeting needs and strengthening our communities. He shared on the 4 future challenges that SE CDC was embarking as a social broker to link up the various government agencies to help our residents and communities. It includes:
1) Demographic Challenges (SG Health @ South East e.g. ageing and efforts to tackle diabetes),
2) Security & Social Cohesion (SG Secure @ South East e.g. the enhanced role of IRCC in our community to maintain racial harmony in times of crisis, etc.),
3) Need for Greater Inclusitivity (SG Cares @ South East e.g. promoting inclusion through Arts) and
4) Economic Uncertainty (Skills Future SG @ South East).
The hall was packed with participants and the Q&A session was lively. ESM Goh was the Guest of Honour for this event and he was our Prime Minister then who started the CDC. The event closed with a birthday cake to celebrate 20 years of the outstanding work done by the 5 CDCs in our country.
