friend a neighbour programme
date: saturday, 3 december 2022 | time: 12 pm - 1 pm
venue: sglap cc
Siglap Harmony Circle members attended a meeting organised by Changi General Hospital on their “Friend a Neighbour” befriender programme at Siglap CC. Dr Eugene shared with the participants the role played by the volunteers in helping our frail and vulnerable seniors after they are discharged from hospital. The seniors include empty nesters, wheelchair and bed bound seniors who need assistance to continue to be engaged with the community.
Advisor Dr Maliki shared with the volunteers how they can enable our seniors to continue to live a meaningful life in the twilight of their lives. We should look after them as they have contributed significantly to the development and success of Singapore.
CGH will arrange training programmes in due course for the volunteers. We look forward to the training and to be able to serve our seniors better.
