siglap island trial @ ubin
date: wednesday, 9 august 2017 | time: 6 am - 2 pm
venue: pulau ubin
Despite the early morning rain, >800 Siglap residents and grassroot leaders turned up to join Advisor Dr Maliki Osman on a "Siglap Island Trail @ Ubin" National Day 2017. The young children were shown how the old days used to be like i.e. living in a kampung with chickens running freely within the compound of the house, chilli plants and vegetable patches in the garden, etc. The residents reminisced on their past and they could see how fast Singapore has developed in the space of 52 short years. There were IRCC posters documenting racial riots and how important it is to maintain racial harmony within our community. We need to be vigilant against the real threat of terrorism. Although it was wet, it was a fun day out for the family and it ended with citation of the pledge and singing of our national anthem. Majulah Singapura!
