caring for our seniors & iftar understanding
date: friday, 16 june 2017 | time: 2 pm - 9 pm
venue: chee hoon kog moral home & al-taqwa mosque
Our partners Chee Hoon Kok Moral Home (CHKMH) and Masjid Al-Taqwa collaborated with SE CDC to organise the above event yesterday. About 60 youths participated in this event and they initially spent time engaging with elderly residents at CHKMH playing Bingo game and performances and Pass the Balloon, etc.
They later went to Masjid Al -Taqwa for a tour of the mosque and youth sharing. Mayor Dr Maliki Osman joined them and gave the opening address and announced the amount of milo product raised through non-Muslim youth fasting efforts. (Note: The non-Muslim youth volunteers participated in the fast, and for every hour each youth fasted, they earned 10 cups worth of milo product that was donated to Masjid Al–Taqwa). It was then followed by sharing on the significance of Ramadan by Ustaz Ashraf from Harmony Centre.
The participants then participated in Iftar at Masjid Al –Taqwa with elderly residents from Moral Home. Siglap IRCC members came out in force to support this event.
