'JIHAD SELFIE' DOCUMENTARY & DISCUSSION ON CYBER RADICALISM

The Association of Muslim Lawyers Singapore (AML) organised a private screening of a new documentary - Jihad Selfie – produced by Indonesian film maker, Noor Huda Ismail at RELC yesterday afternoon. The 50-minute film provided an insight to the psyches of Jihadists and cyber radicalism, including first-hand and up-close on-site interviews with aspiring, embarking, returning and detained jihadists.
Interfaith leaders and facilitators from IRO & IRCC, and youth activists were invited to the closed-door preview and dialogue. The GOH was Senior Minister of State Dr Maliki Osman, and Member of Parliament Zaqy Mohamad also graced the gathering. In his speech, SMS Dr Maliki informed the audience that the threat of terrorism towards Singapore is real and the efforts of the terrorists are relentless. Thus, we all have to play our part in ensuring that we keep Singapore safe. The Ministry of Home Affairs will be rolling out the SG Secure later this month to prepare our citizens to keep Singapore safe.This important initiative will be launched by our PM.
