venue: chee hon kog moral home, 1 jalan bilal
EC GRC IRCC organised a Christmas party for the seniors living at Chee Hon Kog Moral Home this afternoon. Brother Nicholas of Saint Patrick school brought the East District Legion of Mary choir to sing Christmas carols to the seniors. They also brought Santa Claus to bring the Christmas cheer and distributed presents to the seniors. Limau Estate NC ukulele ensemble also came along to entertain the seniors with Christmas carols. The seniors were treated to high tea and while they were eating, our very own “Elvis” Jeffrey sang to the seniors. The event was supported by our Siglap IRCC Youth Ambassadors who came out in strength to help out in this event. It is indeed heartening to see how our youth are learning empathy by caring for our seniors in such events. Apart from their learning journey of understanding the importance of maintaining racial harmony in our multi-racial and multi-religious society, they are also learning how to take care of our less fortunate seniors.
