South East CDC is collaborating with MCCY to pilot a customised training programme for the IRCCs in the South East District. The programme is to further strengthen the role and position of the IRCCs in the community and to deepen IRCC members’ understanding of race and religion issues so that we could more effectively advise and respond to any inter-faith issues arising in our own community.
This 3 day programme called "Fostering Harmony Efforts @ South East" involves IRCC members from Braddell Heights, Marine Parade, MacPherson and Siglap. The Mayor of South East District (Dr Maliki Osman) conducted the initial training session on Thurs, 16 Nov and it covered topics on:
1. Questions on Faith - understand various religions
2. Network of Friends - having multi-racial friends
3. Knowing your Community - do you really know your community
The participants will undergo two more days of intensive training which will be conducted on 25 Nov and 9 Dec at Siglap CC.
