THE 6 C’s MODEL – PROVIDING PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID
date: monday, 26 september 2016 | time: 2 pm - 5 pm
venue: ministry of home affairs
Our Singapore leaders have stressed that a terror attack on Singapore soil is “a matter of when, not if”. Thus, the SGSecure was launched on 24 Sept by PM Lee. It is critical for us to be ready and equipped to manage the day after terror scenario. How can we bounce back and demonstrate resilience as a community and as a nation? The Home Team Behavioural Sciences Centre organised a seminar today at MHA and the talk was given by Dr Farchi (the founder of the Six Cs model for resilience). His talk focused on the threat of terrorism, the challenges of responding to a national crisis, followed by a close examination on how communities can be equipped and apply psychological first aid (PFA) as a collective response to the day after terror. The objective is to return to / resume normalcy immediately after a terrorist attack. We all need to and can play a part by taking ownership and demonstrate to the terrorists that they will not succeed in trying to destroy the social fabric of our multi-racial and multi-religious society.
