mandarin orange outreach with residents
date: saturday, 1 february 2020 | time: 5 pm - 7 pm
venue: jalan bilal & bilal lane
Siglap IRCC and it’s valued partners CHKMH and Al Taqwa mosque held its 3rd Mandarin Orange outreach with our residents living at Jalan Bilal, Bilal Lane and Country Park condo today. This annual outreach is to address issues arising from the upgrading works at CHKMH and the parking issues faced by residents during Friday afternoon prayers and the forthcoming Ramadan. This year, we met quite a number of new residents and they shared that they have no issues with both the construction works and parking issues. We provided them with the contact numbers of CHKMH and the mosque should they have any issues in the future.
This year’s outreach also provided us with the opportunity to demonstrate our solidarity and care amongst Singaporeans of various faiths and races amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. It gave us the opportunity to share with them on how to stay safe i.e. the need to maintain good personal hygiene, to avoid crowded places, to see a doctor when sick, to defer travelling overseas, etc. We gave them a copy of MOH’s health advisory and also informed them to go to Siglap CC to collect their surgical masks.
This year more than 20 volunteers came to support our Mandarin Orange outreach. It included our Youth Ambassadors, Al-Taqwa mosque youths, MAEC and SCEC members. We thank them all for coming together today to help make Singapore a safe and harmonious country to live in.
