APPOINTMENT OF SINGAPORE'S IRCC CHAIRMEN
22 MARCH 2013 | 7.30PM TO 9.30PM
BIOPOLIS, JTC AUDITORIUM

The third term of office ended on 31 March 2013 and the new fourth term of office commenced on 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2015. With the re-organisation of the Ministries on 1 November 2012, the IRCCs now come under the new MCCY cluster.
To commemorate the shift to the new ministry and to recognise the commitment of the IRCC members, a National IRCC Appointment Ceremony was organised for the Chairmen and members on 22 March 2013 (Friday).
Guest-of-Honour, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong presented the letters of appointment to 85 IRCC Chairmen and representatives at the ceremony which was held at the Biopolis, JTC Auditorium.
Besides the presentation of appointment letters, a video montage on “IRCC Cares” was put together and shown to an estimated 300 IRCC Chairmen and members. “IRCC Cares” is a community project where IRCC stakeholders - members from religious and community organisations, work together in giving back to the community and contribute towards social causes, regardless of race and religion.
In his speech, Acting Minister also encouraged the IRCCs to take on “IRCC Cares” themed projects during the new term of office, in turn strengthening their respective IRCC network to give back to the less fortunate, regardless of race or religion.
The event ended off with a buffet dinner which provided a platform for the IRCC leaders to network with one another.
